Our Services
Brent is an enrolled agent (EA) with the IRS and has 12 years of experience in tax preparation. Brent has experience preparing the following forms: personals (W2, 1040 forms, Schedule C, K-1s) business (1065, 1120S, 1120C) estates and trusts (1041), nonprofits (990 forms) and business rentals (8825).
Personal tax returns
Starting at $250
Brent dedicates quality time and effort toward each personal return.
If you have a simple return, he will take his time to make sure you have maximized every possible deduction for your personal return as he looks through your case.
For business owners with 1040 forms, this is also your starting rate and should be straightforward with pricing unless it’s highly complex.
For those who operate as sole proprietors, you will also start at this price and be charged for any additional preparation time, instead of per form (this includes Schedule Cs and all K-1s). Brent will do a follow-up quote with you after your initial consultation if necessary. Luckily, Brent’s labor and filing fees still sit at around 25-50% less than the average EA or CPA firm in the US. (See: How much does a CPA cost for small business owners?)
Business tax returns
Starting at $500
This unbeatable starting price applies to all business types, including LLCs, partnerships, S-corps, C-corps, non-profits, estates, and trusts. Brent has experience filing for both small businesses and corporations, ranging from companies valued in the thousands of dollars to one billion. When he prepares your return, Brent will walk you through the process, ask strategic questions, prepare your return and give you a follow-up call to walk you through your numbers before he files.
The complexity of your return may increase your filing fee, but Brent will reach out to you with a follow-up quote to get your approval. We do not charge by form, only preparation time. Most of our clients still end up paying less than 33%-50% total for their return than the average rate. Bookkeeping services
$50 per hour
Brent offers bookkeeping services to compliment your tax preparation services. These services are booked separately. He offers you accurate, efficient, and strategic bookkeeping that are formatted for helpful monthly reports and tax preparation or audits. Along with completing your books, he offers you complimentary monthly reports and cash flow advice at no extra charge. The advantage to having Brent manage your bookkeeping along with your taxes is that he will have in-depth knowledge about your company’s cash flow and will be even better equipped to offer you the best possible tax strategy every year.
We believe the bookkeeping needs of each company should be charged based on time, not a subscription service or flat fee that could result in you being overcharged. Many EAs charge $100 an hour for bookkeeping (Guide to Enrolled Agents & Finding One Near You). For our affordable price, sign up by clicking the button below.
What is an EA?
We often get asked, what’s an EA (enrolled agent)?
The IRS website explains, “Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.”-Enrolled agent information | Internal Revenue Service.
As an EA, Brent has the same capacity to help you plan, prepare, and consult with you on your taxes as a CPA. In fact, when Brent worked for tax firms in the past, he held the same accountant position as CPAs. The only difference is Brent cannot conduct general audit services for your business or offer you audit protection. However, in Brent’s experience with taxes, if he does his job right, your chances of needing audit will be low.
The good news is, if you do receive a notice for a tax audit from the IRS, Brent can represent you with the IRS and advocate for you on behalf of or your tax case. This includes appealing unfair decisions, ask for more time on your behalf, help you prepare documentation to be prepared for an audit, and help you prepare answers to will help you be concise and reduce risk.
